About the Course

Bachelor of Computer Science & Information Technology program is designed to address present issues affecting the world with emphasis on multidimensional aspects. This programme allows students to develop broadly educated and become competent graduates for professional careers. Especially important is a foundation that will endure technology advances and changes.

How much will it cost (2016-2017 fees)?

For general (SSC & HSC passed): BDT 3,10,956.

For Diploma Engineers: BDT 2,22,411.

How long will it take?

For general (SSC & HSC passed): 4 academic years; 12 semesters.

For Diploma Engineers: 3 academic years; 9 semesters.

How often will I need to attend?

A student must attend all the classes. Up to three absences, per course, in a semester may be excused.

What qualification do I need?

The minimum requirement for eligibility to seek admission into BCSIT program is higher secondary certificate from Science with Physics and Mathematics may apply for admission in Computer Science & Information Technology. However, students passing HSC from Humanities and Commerce group may also apply for this program provided they complete courses equivalent to 6 credit hours in Mathematics and Physics before they start their regular courses at the university. Minimum qualifying points to be eligible to apply is 5. Students with English medium background are encouraged to apply for admission.For all foreign certificates equivalence will be determined by the University.

 When and how should I apply?

The University calendar is arranged so that students may start in January, May or September.

What will I be studying?

You are required to complete 12 semesters to obtain 153 credits: six compulsory semesters are taken in the first two years, and in Year 3 and 4 you choose six optional semesters.
