The Bachelor course on Environmental Science is designed by integrating all branches of natural sciences including technology and management. The education and research here have been conducted with two main pillars of vision for the establishment of the department – Sustainability and 'Safety of Earth'. These are horizontal platforms of the cross-disciplinary studies without barriers between the different fields of sciences.
For general (SSC & HSC passed): BDT 4,09,830.
For Diploma Holders: BDT 3,91,830 .
For general (SSC & HSC passed): 4 academic years; 12 semesters.
For Diploma Holders: 3 academic years; 9 semesters.
A student must attend all the classes. Up to three absences, per course, in a semester may be excused.
A higher secondary certificate or its equivalent in Science, Arts, Commerce or other fields of study is the basic educational requirement. Minimum qualifying points to be eligible to apply is 5. Students with English medium background are encouraged to apply for admission. For all foreign certificates, equivalence will be determined by the University.
The University calendar is arranged so that students may start in January, May or September.
You are required to complete 12 semesters to obtain 145 credits: six compulsory semesters are taken in the first two years, and in Year 3 and 4 you choose six optional semesters.
You will cover a rotating combination of:
- Science
- Environmental Science
- English
- Computer Science
- Mathematics
- Humanities
Face-to-face teaching, lectures and seminars.
Through course assignments and/or in-class tests, plus formal examinations.
Access to computer facilities and library.
Depending on concentration one can pursue a career as an environmental scientist, resource economist, educator, sustainable development specialist, corporate environmental manager, Public health expert, water expert, biotechnologist, environmental engineer, NGO and International organizations.
